About Phillips Tyres Shepton Mallet                      

We are the largest independent tyre retailer in the area.  We offer the complete package of tyres, batteries, exhausts, car servicing, MOT and repair work for all your motoring needs at our new modern site.

History

We first established ourselves in Shepton Mallet during May 1982 in the old Hodders Vauxhall Garage.  In June 2010 a new site was accquired opposite our old place, this was formally the Nat West Bank Car Park. We developed a bespoke building and managed to achieve an award for the best commercial development 2011.  These new premises also allowed us to further expand and offer more services to our customers. The company is still owned and run by family members and still offers those true and fair values often lost in larger corporate concerns.

Our Staff

All our MOT testers are trained, authorized & regulated by the government body VOSA (The Vehicle Operator & Services Agency). Therefore – any MOT carried out is done independently of the garage by one of our nominated tester who has been approved to do so by the MOT governing body.  Our nominated testers & the testing station have unannounced spot checks annually

For the more complicated Diagnostic / Electrical, mechanical repair work you may require - we offer not just MOT testing but associated garage repair work. This includes servicing, brakes, batteries, tyres, computer diagnostics and engine diagnostics. These repairs are carried out by our trained staff.

Environmental Issues

As a company operating in the motor vehicle repair industry, we take environmental issues very seriously and as such we pay over £1.00 for the environmental disposal of each waste tyre.
We re-cycle our waste oil and dispose of our waste products through collection services.
We have recently offset 29 tonnes of Co2 through Future Forests to become 100% Carbon Neutral.
We have also installed 54 Photo voltaic Solar panels to the building producing 12.96KWp. Expected annual production of 11,125 KWH.
